The skating club in Nieuw-Buinen hoped to hold the first marathon on natural ice tonight. But the KNSB has chosen Burgum, in Friesland. The ice on the Drenthe track was just under three centimeters last night, which is necessary to hold a marathon. And so everyone can skate on the track today.
