These flights were to be performed on aircraft owned by the airline – Boeing 767 with Russian registration RA-73030, RA-73032 and RA-73034, which fell under US sanctions, the Telegram channel reports.

The day before, the US Department of Commerce banned flights of 100 aircraft that, after the introduction of new restrictions, flew to Russia and which, according to the authorities, violate export control measures.

This list includes the Gulfstream G560 used by businessman Roman Abramovich, the other 99 are Boeing, which are used by Russian airlines. The list includes aircraft of Aeroflot (33), Utair (12), Nordwind (14), Azur Air (23), cargo AirBridge Cargo (12) and Aviastar-TU (5).

The US authorities have effectively banned international flights from Russia on these planes. Refueling, maintenance, repair of such aircraft and the sale of spare parts for them violate export regulations.

What Russian airlines will fly after the ban on Airbus deliveries

On February 24, the United States imposed restrictions on the export of aviation products to Russia. In early March, the United States closed the skies to Russian aircraft. The document clarifies that the restrictions apply, among other things, to flights of all Aeroflot, Yakutia, Nordwind Airlines, Azur Air and AirBridgeCargo Airlines ships.

The EU imposed sanctions on the Russian transport sector, which include a ban on the sale of aircraft and aircraft parts to Russia, on February 26. After that, Russian carriers faced refusal to cooperate with Airbus and Boeing, manufacturers of engines and components.
