Hydrogen sulfide is a toxic substance. “Leakage will harm the flora and fauna in the Sea of Azov (a fringe of the Black Sea, ed.) completely eradicate. It can then also end up in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea,” the Mariupol city council said.
Mariupol Mayor Vadym Boychenko said immediate access by international experts and the United Nations (UN) to the Azov stable plant site is needed to assess the situation there and prevent a global environmental disaster.
