After four games without a win, AZ has once again taken full advantage. Fortuna Sittard was a willing victim: 0-3. Goals came via Jens Odgaard, Milos Kerkez and Vangelis Pavlidis.
AZ played – between the diptych with Anderlecht – in Sittard against Fortuna. The start of the game was very lackluster and it also took a long time before great opportunities were created. Tijjani Noslin came through in the opening phase and shot at Pantelis Hatzidiakos. AZ’s first opportunity was a direct hit.
After a nice attack, Jens Odgaard came in front of the goal and did not fail: 0-1. Just before the break, the score of the Alkmaarders was doubled. Left back Milos Kerkez started walking from his own half and poked the ball in: 0-2.

Just like before the break, it took a long time before AZ became dangerous again in the second half. It was of all Sam Beukema, who got a chance. His effort was turned by goalkeeper Ivor Pandur. Vangelis Pavlidis went after Pandur again a few minutes later, again the goalie kept his goal clean.
Pavlidis scored the decisive goal just before the end of the game. The cross came from Yukinari Sugawara and the Greek rounded off: 0-3. That was his first goal since late February. Thanks to the victory, AZ remains firmly in fourth place. Next Thursday, Anderlecht will be the first opponent, RKC will be next in the Eredivisie.
