It was already established that AZ would organize the fan day on Saturday 5 August, but now it is also known who the opponent will be. The Italian Bologna is coming to Alkmaar. That means a reunion with Sam Beukema and Jerdy Schouten.
Sam Beukema recently made the switch from AZ to Bologna. The 24-year-old defender exchanged Alkmaar for the Italian mid-engine after two years. Denso Kasius walked the opposite way from Italy to North Holland that same day. The former FC Volendam player signed a contract with AZ until mid-2027.
Jerdy Schouten is also under contract with Bologna. The midfielder played one international match in the Orange shirt. Sydney van Hooijdonk and Joshua Zirkzee also play at Bologna.
The AZ fan day is on the program for the first time since 2019. Due to the corona pandemic, the event could not take place in recent years. Last year AZ and Bologna also practiced against each other. Then AZ won 1-0 against the Italians.
The fan day starts on Saturday, August 5 at 1 p.m. and the match between AZ and Bologna kicks off at 5 p.m.
