AZ player Ferdy Druijf returns early from rental period

With only six base places this season, Ferdy Druijf says goodbye to KV Mechelen and returns to AZ. The striker from Uitgeest announced this via his social channels. Druijf would finish the season at the Belgian club, but due to lack of playing minutes, he will return earlier. Druijf still has a contract with the Alkmaarders until the summer of 2025.

Druijf was in his second season with KV Mechelen. Exactly one year ago he made the step to the current number nine in Belgium. That went pretty well with eleven starting places and six hits. This season it is less prosperous and the counter remained at three goals.

Future

It is currently unclear whether Druijf will remain with AZ or whether he will be rented out again. There is interest from Austria in the corridors.
