Midtsjø has been playing at AZ since 2017, which took him over from Rosenborg BK at the time. The 28-year-old international quickly became a fixture in Alkmaar’s midfield. Midtsjø’s contract runs for another year. AZ can therefore now ask for a transfer fee for him.
The Norwegian was on the bench during the games against FK Tuzla City in the second qualifying round of the Conference League. Midtsjø was allowed to substitute in both matches from trainer Pascal Jansen. AZ won both at home (1-0) and away (0-4).
Galatasaray has had a disappointing season, finishing in thirteenth place in the Turkish league. Midtsjø can become a teammate of Orange-international Patrick van Aanholt in Istanbul.
