AZ just knows how to find many again; Standard Liège defeated in secret exhibition game

AZ won today’s exhibition game with the Belgian Standard Liège. Due to security risks, the match was not announced in advance and was played behind closed doors. In De Lutte, where AZ is on a training camp, it eventually became 4-3.

All internationals were back at AZ. Last Saturday, when AZ met 3-3 draw against Shakhtar Donetsk, trained this group separately. At the beginning of this week they joined the rest of the selection again. Tijjani Reijnders, who is in the explicit interest of AC Milan, was present, but did not take action.

In contrast to the match against the Ukrainian national champion, AZ started less strongly against Standard. After 22 minutes it was 2-0 for the Belgians. Dutch attacker Noah Ohio hit twice, including once from the penalty spot.

Shortly after the 2-0, Dani de Wit did something back on behalf of AZ, but Ohio completed his hat trick within half an hour and both teams went to rest at 3-1.

The second half consisted of two half hours. In the first half hour Zico made Buurmeester assisted by Denso Kasius the connection hit. In the last half hour, Yusuf Barasi headed the equalizer against the ropes. In the end, AZ even took the win. Ernest Poku made it 4-3 with a beautiful shot.
