Already fairly early in the season, the pressure is on AZ. The Alkmaarders have to undo last week’s 1-0 defeat against Dundee United tomorrow. Otherwise, the European season will come to an end very soon. A bright spot in the run-up to the match is that Yukinari Sugawara is available again and Riechedly Bazoer is part of the AZ selection for the first time.
Yukinari Sugawara returns to the match selection. Riechedly Bazoer is better again and could make his debut. Jesper Karlsson, Jens Odgaard and Zinho Vanheusden are not fit.
The match starts tomorrow at 9 p.m. in Alkmaar. Last week AZ lost 1-0 to Dundee United. If after two games there is a tie on the scoreboard, extra time is played. The winner advances to the fourth qualifying round of the Conference League. Only then will the group stage of the third European tournament follow.
