After the 4-0 win last week in Alkmaar, AZ today won 2-1 against Gil Vicente in Portugal. With this, Pascal Jansen’s team qualifies for the group stage of the Conference League.
AZ started the game well with the same eleven players as last week. Dani de Wit shot at the post and moments later the midfielder became dangerous again with a header. After that the pace dropped far and there was little to do. Pavlidis hit the post again, but there were no more highlights to be seen.

Shortly in the second half, Evjen had a great chance, but he shot the ball past. The Norwegian was successful in the 60th minute. With a nice bounce, he scored the first goal of the evening. A few minutes later it was Reijnders who made the 2-0 on the counter. After fumbling in the AZ defense, Boselli made the honorary goal for the Portuguese.
The draw for the group stage of the Conference League is Friday at 2.30 pm.
