AZ director Eenhoorn in De Kick-off: “If you misbehave in the stadium, you will leave”

He refuses to jump to conclusions. AZ general manager Robert Eenhoorn first wants to await the investigation into the riots at the match against West Ham United. Unicorn is a guest in De Aftrap tonight and does have a clear message to rioters. “What you do outside I’m not about, but if you misbehave in the stadium, you’re out.”

The arrests by the police, the 43 stadium bans imposed and the various additional measures those taken before the last match next Sunday against PSV do not exactly fit the image of ‘family club’ AZ.

To all criticism that the security measures at the game against West Ham are insufficient were, Unicorn does not want to go into further now. “We have hired eighty outside security guards. There are competitions that there are ten. So there has been quite a bit of scaling up and the police have done the same. So it is not that there was no security. There are all kinds of people who speculate what is was not in order and was not good. The investigation is ongoing. You have to do that carefully and wait and see.”

There are two sides to the fact that AZ has become more attractive to people. Eenhoorn: “With us, the fanatical supporters have become more fanatical. There is more atmosphere in the stadium, but of course we would rather not see such an incident as West Ham.”

FC Volendam coach Wim Jonk agrees. In Volendam, the fanatical Hekside Mafia is stirring. “The atmosphere in the stadium has also grown enormously with us. Both at home and away. But let’s use common sense together. Be an example for young children, because they also see what happens when there is a fight.”

Also in this broadcast the award ceremony of the cup that goes to the winner of our weekly game Raak de Vlag. Tom Overtoom received the prize at Telstar’s training. He put the balls closest to the North Holland flag with great feeling.
