Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose has been sued for rape, reports The New York Times.
Former model Sheila Kennedy filed the lawsuit in New York Supreme Court on Wednesday. She accuses the singer of rape and assault and seeks damages.
The alleged rape took place in a New York hotel in 1989. Kennedy claims in her lawsuit that Rose dragged her by the hair, tied her up and raped her.
Kennedy says he met Rose at a nightclub in New York. Kennedy did not know who Rose was at the time, according to the suit.
According to the lawsuit, Rose invited Kennedy and another woman to a party in her suite. There, Rose offered the women cocaine and alcohol. After the party, Rose had aggressively had sex with another woman, behaved violently and raped Kennedy.
Rose’s lawyer Alan S. Gutman deny the events. According to him, Rose has no recollection of ever meeting Kennedy.
