Defender Axel Rindell, who played in Jukuri and Kärpi this season, made the first NHL deal of his life. The Espoo breeder put his name in a two-year contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
21-year-old Rindell earns an average of € 835,000 a year from a contract coming into force next season.
The 182-cent kit will join the AHL team in the ranks of the Toronto Marlies with a try-out deal for the rest of the season. The Calder Cup playoffs are ahead.
The team in the hockey capital of the world booked Rindell in 2020 in the sixth round at number 177.
This season, the right-wing kit played 42 matches in the League, scoring 17 power points.
