Axel Holmström praised his agent’s words, but the handing over of Sport clearly weighed on the Swede’s mind.

Sport is rarely a hot topic – albeit in a negative sense. The gloves flew off the counter in Vaasa last Saturday, even though the playoff spot was at least theoretically still within reach.
After the emotional transfer announcement, almost all of Sport’s star players have moved to new teams. Scored 40 power points this season Axel Holmström however, was still involved in the match against Ilves, where Sport seemed to have completely given up.
– It was a sad decision, and it probably came as a shock to many players. Unfortunate and sad, Holmström lamented.
Holmström said that he was aware of the financial interests behind the solution, although the attacker’s voice in commenting on the situation was clearly heavy.
– I understand that this doesn’t look very good from the outside. I’m sorry for the fans and season ticket holders, but that’s just the way it is.
– This kind of activity is possible in Finland, and Sport is not the first team to do this, Holmström reminded.
The agent took the role
On Monday, interesting information emerged about Holmström’s own situation. His agent Martin Nilsson told the Hockeysverige website that the forward was not willing to move to the team that Sport offered him to.
– This is absurd. The club is trying to milk as much money as possible, but it is not certain that Axel would want to play in the club that offers the most money. What a fucking circus this has become, Nilsson roared.
According to Holmström, his agent may have overreacted a little to what happened.
– I think that Sport’s announcement also came as a shock to him to some extent. His phone must have been ringing on a hot weekend, creating a circus feel. That was his view.
Will Holmström be seen in Sport until the end of the season if a suitable club is not found?
– With these prospects, I will play in Sport until the end of the season, if nothing special happens. In these last matches, you also have to prepare for the future, when many young players will be given responsibility.
