Restauranter and chef Akseli Herlevi is an avid griller. If Herlevi, who is also known as a burger man, gets to choose, he always grills on a charcoal grill.
The charcoal grill gives the food its own unique taste. Using a charcoal grill is not difficult, but there are a few things to keep in mind.
Let’s start with the lighting that Herlevi gives tips on in the video.
To ignite the coals, Herlevi uses igniters, not liquid.
– I don’t like the idea of combining gasoline with food. According to our gastronomy, it is not the best exchange, Herlevi says.
As long as the pieces of ignition are evenly over the coals, the coals will ignite.
The lid is not closed until the ignition pieces have burned out and the carbons have ignited.
The air vents at the bottom and top of the grill are left open to provide hot embers.
The hatches also control the temperature of the grill during grilling.
