At Wimbledon on Friday, one of the most embarrassing interviews of the tournament could be seen, when the reporter congratulated the loser and the injured in the second round Paula Badosa.

The Spaniard had to give up the match one step lower on the ranking list Marta Kostjukinia against in the second set. This very essential information had been overlooked by the reporter who asked him. The reporter congratulated the victory, after which a tired Badosa tried to correct the situation by saying that he had lost.

Badosa’s correction did not work, but the reporter continued with his question, which had an apt primer.

– You have missed matches due to injuries. Can you tell us about your fitness and confidence level, a male voice asks.

Badosa tried again to clarify the matter. Another person in the room also told the reporter that Badosa did not win. After that, the journalist remained stubborn and repeated his question word for word. Badosa kept his answer short.

– I don’t feel like I’m in the best shape. I just gave up. So yes, I hope to get better.

Badosa’s injury means the end of games in mixed doubles as well. His partner was Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, with whom the Spaniard has dated. The couple’s relationship was revealed at the French Open in May-June.
