Big party for the handball players of HV Volendam. They took the cup today after a victory (29-25) over Hurry-Up. It is the ninth time that the team from Volendam were the best in the cup final.
There were not as many goals as in the women’s final for the men. Volendam quickly made a hole in the game: 11-7. The opponent from Zwartemeer fought back to 12-11 before the break.
In the second half, Hurry-Up even tied the score (14-14). After this, however, Volendam struck the clock again and did not give away the margin of four goals (18-14). This was partly due to the good goalkeeping work of Evan de Lange.
