‘Aw, this is making him sleep badly’

Robert ten Brink’s rare foray outside his TV classics All You Need Is Love and Weekend Millionaires is not a success. “Ow, ouch, ouch. This is the lowest RTL 4 score in months!”

Robert ten Brink is on the tube with a brand new TV program: Opvoeding Doe Je Zo. It’s something very different from what he normally does and the viewer doesn’t seem to like it. The first episode attracted no more than 467 thousand viewers (11 percent market share) to RTL 4 yesterday, an extremely disappointing score.

“Ouch, ouch, ouch!”

Television expert Tina Nijkamp, who was at the helm of SBS 6 for years, thinks it’s sad for Robert. “Ow, ouch, ouch. Robert ten Brink’s new program was viewed very poorly and flopped. It also scores far below average in the commercial target group 20 to 54 years old at 14.6 percent.”

No other RTL 4 program scored such a low market share in the commercial target group last night, Tina explains. “It is also the lowest prime time market share for RTL 4 in months. This will be a long session for RTL 4 and also for Robert. The program is also wrong.”

What is wrong?

In Parenting Doe Je Zo, parenting coach Anne-Marie Stevens delves into different parenting styles in various families at home. A bad format, Tina thinks. “Oof. What a terrifying program this was. Believing, but above all not correct. Think that Robert, who already does few new titles anyway, is sleeping very badly.”

She continues: “The different ‘parenting styles’ are clearly devised by the editors and are not scientifically substantiated, because how does one differ? open minded education of a disciplined education and of a rule-free education? Every parent combines everything anyway, right? And why judge each other? Is not true.”

Robert humiliated

Robert has been humiliated by the competition. No fewer than three programs performed better at the same time: NPO 1’s Opsporing Verzocht (929 thousand and 22 percent), SBS 6’s URK! (635 thousand and 15 percent) and NPO 2’s Krabbé Searches Kahlo (590 thousand and 14 percent).

The winners at half past nine were We Are There with 1.4 million viewers (31 percent) on NPO 1, Today Inside with 811 thousand viewers (19 percent) on SBS 6 and Jinek with 754 thousand viewers (22 percent) on RTL 4 .
