AvtoVAZ will establish uninterrupted assembly of cars only in May

Bad news: AvtoVAZ assembly line will be in a fever until May 2022. The reason is the same – the lack of components. At the same time, the Togliatti Automobile Plant found independent suppliers of scarce electronics that compensate for the shortage of deliveries from Bosch. But deliveries from them will begin only after a couple of months.

Currently, the conveyor is idle at least two days a week. This situation will last at least until March. Understaffed cars line up at factory sites. To compensate for lost profits, the plant is going to re-introduce Saturday shifts at the end of spring, reports the Atypical AvtoVAZon VKontakte.

The head of the Russian representative office, Steffan Hoffmann, said earlier that the shortage of components in the Russian market would be eliminated only by the end of 2022. The global semiconductor crisis is the most affected the production of ABS and ESP systems.

The shortage of electronic components has already affected the decline in car production in Tolyatti and Izhevsk, as well as the fact that Lada Vesta bypassed Lada Granta in sales: scarce parts were primarily for the more expensive AvtoVAZ model, which provided it with a numerical superiority in production. AvtoVAZ produced 109,000 cars less than planned in 2022 due to production failures. This is three months of plant downtime. However, according to the results of February, the B0 line, which assembles XRay, Largus, Renault Logan and Sandero, is idle the most.

Due to production failures, Lada lost its leadership in car sales. At the end of 2021, Vesta and Granta overtook KIA Rio on a steep production turn.

South Korean manufacturers have also taken the path of replacing electronic components. KIA decided to use parts from household appliances when assembling automotive electronic components. And car factories in Uzbekistan decided to collect cars without car radios.
