Eric van Stade, the outgoing director of AvroTros, denies after a period of persistent rumors that a salary structure has been devised for Eva Jinek. “But I have sources!”
There seems to have been a kind of general consensus that a salary structure has been devised for Eva Jinek now that she is returning to the public broadcaster after a few lucrative years at RTL. There is a salary ceiling there of about €200,000 per year – something that would make her lie on the lawn of the commercial companies for two months, so to speak.
Towards the man
The rumors are extremely persistent; according to Rob Goossens, there is even controversy about it within the top broadcasters. One of the bosses, Gijs van Beuzekom, is said to have expressed his objections, resulting in a different genre being added to Eva’s new talk show, so that it is no longer his responsibility.
AD media journalist Dennis Jansen called Eric van Stade, the outgoing director of AvroTros, where Eva is now under contract. “I thought: I’m just going to ask the man straight up what is true about it. You know, she goes from a fairly high salary from RTL to the NPO,” he says in the latest AD Media podcast.
1.4 million euros
Podcast host Manuel Venderbos points out how much Eva earned at RTL. “She was at 1.4 million.”
Dennis: “No, that’s nonsense.”
Manuel: “Was called.”
Dennis: “Yes, but that is not true.”
Journalist Marcus den Blanken: “In any case, she was sitting quite high.”
Pack leader Angela de Jong: “Around a million, I think.”
Dennis: “I think even less, but it doesn’t matter.”
‘No construction!’
Anyway: back to Dennis and his call with the AvroTros bobo. “He swore that there was really no salary structure of any kind, that she had to pass on everything, that she is only employed by AvroTros, so not at MediaLane and not at Joop (van den Ende, ed. ).”
He continues: “She is only on the payroll at AvroTros and anything extra she earns she must declare to AvroTros. Shares, I know a lot, she has to declare everything to AvroTros. And everything she does on the side, chairing the day, writing a book, whatever, she must at least indicate that.”
Extremely hard
Angela thinks it’s a good denial. “It’s good that he says that so bluntly. The only thing I can say against it… I don’t know any better that Eva has always been very open about her salary. Also about the reason she joined RTL. I only know that the rumors are very persistent in TV Land. That it keeps coming.”
Marcus points out the multiple sources he and Angela have. “But Angela, we can say that independently of each other we spoke to someone who said: this construction exists.”
Angela: “Well, more. More people even.”
Marcus: “So that makes it okay that he strongly denies it.”
