Aviation must be climate neutral by 2050 | Environment

The ICAO has 193 member states. They approved the ambitious climate target in Montreal on Friday. According to a European diplomatic source, only four countries, including China, have entered reservations.

The aviation sector is currently responsible for 2.5 to 3 percent of global CO2 emissions. To make the sector completely climate neutral, investments of 1,550 billion dollars (1,588 billion euros) would have to be made in the coming decades, according to the airlines.
