Average purchasing power says little about specific situations

Purchasing power will fall by an average of 2.7 percent this year, the Central Planning Bureau (CPB) reported on Wednesday. This means that with our income we can buy 2.7 percent less in the store. That is well below the predicted increase of 0.1 percent that the then caretaker cabinet made on Budget Day. But a purchasing power figure is always an average; much depends on your specific situation.
