Petr Aven, Mikhail Fridman and German Khan left the board of Genesis Philanthropy Group
The charity group founded by businessmen supported Jewish communities around the world.
Russian billionaires Pyotr Aven, Mikhail Fridman and German Khan have resigned from the board of directors of the Genesis Philanthropy Group (GPG), a charitable organization founded by them, which unites funds in support of Jews and the development of the global Jewish community. About it reported JTA with a link to the GPG email newsletter.
“Since our founding, Mikhail Fridman, Petr Aven, and Herman Khan have driven our efforts to grow Jewish activism around the world, and each of them is personally deeply interested in a bright future for Jews,” the email says. It explains that the entrepreneurs have decided to leave the board in order to allow GPG to “stay true to its mission and continue to build on the foundation that has been laid for the past 15 years.”
Fridman, Aven, Galitsky and Matsotsky will leave the board of directors of Alfa-Bank
The group assured that the resignation of the founders would not interfere with the allocation of humanitarian aid to Ukraine in the amount of $10 million, which was announced a few days earlier. GPG has assured that it has sufficient financial resources to fulfill all of its financial promises.
The departed Russian businessmen will be replaced by Sanford Cardin and Israel Goldschmidt.
