The singer was slightly injured but was able to finish the show.
During her performance in Los Angeles on June 20, pop singer Ava Max was slapped in the middle of the stage by a concert-goer. The artist, known for her international hit “Sweet But A Psycho”, claims to have scratched her eye as a result of the attack, but was still able to continue the show.
A previously unknown man managed to storm the stage and was able to get to the singer. A video recording shared on various social media documented the incident. The attacker was arrested by security people immediately after the slap and led off the stage.
Ava Max on Twitter: “Such behavior is unacceptable”
Ava Max herself also shared the video and commented on it on her Twitter account. “A reminder to everyone that such behavior is totally unacceptable,” wrote the American. “He hit me so hard he scratched the inside of my eye. Be assured that he will never attend another show,” she added. Nevertheless, the 29-year-old thanked the people who attended the concert on Tuesday evening: “Thanks to the fans, it was still a wonderful evening in LA”.
Ava Max isn’t the only pop star who’s been the victim of an assault at a concert lately. Just days earlier, musician Bebe Rexha lacerated her head after a bystander threw his cell phone at her. Rexha then had to leave the stage and receive medical treatment. The attacker was identified and charged with assault.
