Storm Ciarán is rushing towards Europe. But before that happens, we will have a very mild autumn day on Wednesday with temperatures of 16 degrees. According to Weerplaza, the autumn storm will cause problems, especially in France and England. It will be quite stormy in Brabant on Thursday and we will also have ‘typical autumn weather’.
Meteorologist Johnny Willemsen from Weerplaza has bad news for all storm chasers in Brabant. “Storm Ciarán will mainly cause havoc in north-west France and the south of England. After that, there will also be a lot of storms above the North Sea,” but we won’t notice much of that in Brabant, he says.
Willemsen also gives an explanation for this. “That has to do with the fact that the wind comes from the south on Thursday. Then storms usually aren’t too bad. With a westerly wind it would have been a different story. Of course there is always a chance that it will run, but it doesn’t seem that way now.”
“On Thursday we will have wind force six with quite a few showers”
It will be a stormy day on Thursday according to the meteorologist. “We are getting wind force 6 with quite a few showers. It will rain heavily, especially during the night and morning. During the day there is a coming and going of showers.
Next weekend it will remain ‘typical autumn weather’. But on Wednesday, a mild autumn day with 16 degrees awaits us. “That is warm for this time of year,” Willemsen admits. But that is only for a short time.
