Autopsy confirms French Ruby (2), found dead near Belgian border, was beaten “repeatedly” | Abroad

The body of two-and-a-half-year-old Ruby was found last Thursday in her mother’s apartment in the Seclin commune, close to the Belgian border. The French news channel BFM TV previously reported that the girl’s body would show traces of beatings. The autopsy now confirms that. Ruby was beaten several times “on her head and the rest of her body”, it sounds.

The girl’s mother and her boyfriend are in pre-trial detention. The man is charged with the murder of a minor, while Ruby’s mother is suspected of not helping her daughter and not reporting abuse.

Ruby’s death sends shock waves through the community of Seclin. In the meantime, an online fundraising campaign has been set up to support the toddler’s father and to finance the girl’s funeral.
