The US fashion and media group Authentic Brands Group LLC (ABG) has merged the business activities of the brands Quiksilver, Billabong, Roxy, RVCA, DC Shoes, Element and Von Zipper in Japan and Taiwan, which belong to the Boardriders Group, into the specially founded company BRJ Group introduced.
The new company, in which financial investor SMBC Capital Partners holds the majority stake, will be led by Boardriders Japan and Taiwan’s existing management team led by Sammy Yoo, according to a statement. The company will therefore develop, manufacture and market all products of the associated brands in the two markets in the future.
The Authentic Brands Group acquired the labels in the summer as part of the takeover of the Boardriders Group. In the meantime, the new owner concluded several licensing agreements for the brands. Among other things, the textile group Liberated Brands acts as a strategic sales partner for the North American market.
