Toronto Maple Leafs striker Auston Matthews has been banned from the two-match game, the NHL said in a statement.
Matthews, 24, struck the Swedish defender of the Buffalo Sabers with a crossbar Rasmus Dahlinia21, to the lower head and neck area on Sunday in an outdoor match.
