On Friday, the German manufacturer Audi confirmed long-standing rumors about joining the F1 series for the 2026 season. However, Audi executives have not yet revealed which team they will cooperate with.
– Motorsport is an essential part of Audi’s DNA, chairman of the board Markus Duesmann line at the announcement event.
Duessman says the trigger for the F1 move is a change in the series’ engine rules, which are meant to make the sport more environmentally friendly.
– After all, both Formula 1 and Audi pursue clear, long-term goals.
The car brand belonging to the Volkswagen Group will establish its headquarters in Neuburg. It is the first time in more than a decade that the power sources of the Formula Ones are manufactured in Germany.
