Attempted carjacking in Eindhoven: two suspects arrested

Two suspects of carjacking were lifted from their beds on Tuesday morning in their homes in Eindhoven and Berlicum. This is reported by the police. The duo wanted to rob a man of his car and money on Saturday, March 4. He was threatened with a firearm by the perpetrators.

The 21-year-old victim from Nederweert drove home by car after finishing his work in Eindhoven, around eleven o’clock in the evening. When he stopped briefly at the Dr. Holtroplaan, suddenly two men got into his car.

The two threatened the driver with a gun and a knife. The victim also received blows to the head. The robbers forced the man to drive to a remote place in Swartbroek, Limburg. They wanted to leave him there and take the car and his money with them.

Escape
Eventually, the victim managed to get the two to allow him to continue to a gas station along the A2 motorway. There he managed to escape from the car with his car keys. The robbers then fled on foot.

Police investigations led to both suspects. It concerns a 26-year-old man from Eindhoven and a 24-year-old man from Berlicum. They will remain in jail for the time being and will be interrogated.
