domestic violence? Public prosecutor filed a criminal complaint against Zverev

It was announced on Wednesday that the Berlin public prosecutor had filed a criminal complaint against Zverev. The application was submitted to the Tiergarten district court on July 7, 2023, as the public prosecutor confirmed to the NDR. Zverev is accused of assault. It’s about allegations of domestic violence against his ex-partner Brenda Patea, as confirmed by the woman’s management.

If the district court issues the penalty order, Zverev could file an objection within two weeks, which would lead to a main hearing. In its statement, the district court expressly referred to the presumption of innocence for Zverev.

In 2020, another ex-girlfriend, Olga Scharypowa, made allegations of domestic violence against Zverev. The incidents are said to have occurred at a masters tournament in China. Zverev protested his innocence and, according to his own statements, obtained a temporary injunction. The ATP also acquitted him in early 2023 after an investigation.
