The Italian climbs onto the podium behind Crouser and Walsh. Fourth was the other blue Weir
The Italian weightlifters did not disappoint as they brought their first medal to the World Indoor Athletics Championships currently being held in Glasgow. Leo Fabbri takes care of it and, after the outdoor silver in 2023, takes the bronze with 21.96 (obtained on the first throw) behind the silver of the New Zealander Walsh with 22.07 and the gold of the American Crouser in 22.77. Also noteworthy is the excellent fourth place of the other Italian Zane Weir with 21.85. “There was a bit of nervousness before the race – says a rather polemical blacksmith -. Both of them didn’t accept the burden. There is someone who continues to set the world record as he shouldn’t (the reference is to Crouser and his throwing technique which for some is not correct, ed.) and we get annoyed by things that don’t exist. We threw with weights that weren’t ours. A step towards Paris”
