Athletics: US star improves shot put world record

Two-time Olympic shot put champion Ryan Crouser has slightly improved his world record.

The American jumped 23.38 m at the Simplot Games in Idaho on Saturday, beating his own record by one centimeter. Crouser set the old record in June 2021.

Crouser had won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, just like in Rio. Last year he was also crowned world champion for the first time in Eugene/Oregon. The 30-year-old also surpassed his indoor best (22.82) by more than half a meter in Idaho.
