Armand Duplantis once again proved his exceptional position in pole vaulting. The Swede won the “Golden Spikes” athletics meeting in Ostrava, Czech Republic, with a jump of 6.12 meters.
The 23-year-old Olympic, world and European champion improved his world record for the year by one centimetre. Then Duplantis, who holds the outdoor world record at 6.21 meters, failed three times at 6.17 meters.
Kurtis Marschall from New Zealand came second with 5.90 meters thanks to fewer failed attempts ahead of Ernest John Obiena from the Philippines who was third at the World Championships.
