Long jumper Fabian Heinle won the German Championships in Berlin with a personal best performance of the season.

Fabian Heinle has secured the German championship title in the long jump for the fifth time. The 28-year-old from Stuttgart won the national track and field championships in Berlin on Sunday (June 26, 2022) with a jump of 7.81 meters. The European Championship runner-up from 2018 successfully defended his title from the previous year, but clearly missed the norms for the World Cup and European Championship this summer.

Maximilian Entholzner from Passau missed his second success after 2020. The German best of the year was third with 7.52 meters behind Oliver Koletzko from Wiesbaden, who jumped five centimeters further. Decathlete Kai Kazmirek came in eighth with 7.18 meters. This afternoon, 16 titles will be awarded at the end of this year’s championships in the Olympic Stadium.

Knäke in the pole vault in front

Anjuli Knäsche won the pole vault with 4.55 meters ahead of Ella Buchner with 4.40 meters. Jacqueline Otchere from Mannheim reached the same height. For Knäsche it is the first German championship title, in 2013 she had already finished third.
