Long jumper Malaika Mihambo finished second at the Diamond League meeting in Stockholm. Konstanze Klosterhalfen disappointed over 5,000 meters, discus thrower Kristin Pudenz convinced.
Mihambo missed the victory on Sunday (July 2nd, 2023) by a hair’s breadth, but set her best performance of the season at 6.66 meters despite the bad weather. “I fought bravely today. I had a bad cold in the pre-season. I still notice that. But I see that I’m on the right track,” said Mihambo on “Sky”.
The Italian Larissa Iapichino jumped three centimeters further. European Champion Ivana Vuleta from Serbia was third with 6.58 meters. At the World Cup in Budapest at the end of August, Mihambo will be fighting for her third world title in a row.
Klosterhalfen only 14.
Konstanze Klosterhalfen was still chasing the best in her first race of the season over 5,000 meters. The European champion did not get past 14th place. Three Germans discus throwers in Top 5
