Taking a few subjects at mavo level and the rest at havo level? Or vice versa? At the Picasso Lyceum is that the most normal thing in the world. Lisanne is in seventh grade and tells how nice that is.
Lisanne started the school year with three subjects at HAVO level and the rest at MAVO level. She is now taking six subjects at HAVO level. “It’s great that I get every subject at my level,” she says. “I discuss this with my coach every week. I have recently been allowed to take three extra subjects at HAVO level, because I am doing well. I am proud of that.”

In addition to a weekly coaching conversation, Lisanne has a few development conversations. Her parents are also present. “Then we discuss how I am doing and how I feel at school. We also agree on what I will be working on in the near future.”
Education that suits you
In addition to classrooms, the Picasso also has domain spaces. Here you work on different subjects that belong together, such as mathematics and physics. You can also go here outside of classes to do homework and make up assignments.
Pupils from all kinds of classes work in the domains. “This creates more friendships and an extra cozy atmosphere in school.” Lisanne can often be found in the Languages domain: “I have dyslexia, so I have trouble with language. I can practice extra in the domains. I am now better off in all languages.”
Challenge and guidance at every level
The Picasso challenges every student at his or her own level. During TOP classes you will spend one afternoon working with students with the same interest in the field of Sport, ICT, Culture or Science. Are you gifted or do you participate in top sport? Even then you can work well at our school, because you can get a coach who is trained to guide you.
