At this cycling shop in Emmen, they are closely following Elmar Reinders’ Tour debut

Elmar Reinders hasn’t been big in the picture yet this Tour de France, but Gert Hollemans has no trouble finding him on television. “He has a large build, slightly broader shoulders: you can get him out that way. And he always drives near Dylan (Groenewegen, ed.).”

From an early age, Reinders was a child at home at the Hollemans bicycle shop in Emmen. “Here, with that yellow cap,” he points to an 8-year-old Elmar in the photos of the opening of his store. Hollemans saw the cycling talent float to the surface, while Reinders went through the youth categories. “We experienced him as a youth rider. Towards the newcomers, to the juniors and helped him wherever necessary. That is something you do as an enthusiast.”
