The driver of a tractor that was shot at by the Dutch police during a farmer’s protest that got out of hand last night is a farmer’s son from Herenveen, in the north of the Netherlands. According to his mother, Jouke (16) was on his way home with his brother. “Jouke is now stuck at the police station”, says his mother. “We are very sad.” Elsewhere in the Netherlands, hay bales were set on fire along the highways.
