Families entitled to a social allowance in the Growth Package will receive the promised extra premium of 100 euros per child at the end of next week. In total, this concerns 450,000 children. That says Flemish Minister of Welfare Hilde Crevits (CD&V).
To support the purchasing power of families with a limited income, the Flemish government decided last year to provide a premium of 100 euros per child in both November 2022 and May 2023 for families who are entitled to a social allowance under the Growth Package.
In November 2022, the target group still consisted of 385,000 children, but due to the expansion of the target group, it now concerns 450,000 children, according to Minister Crevits.
Families entitled to the premium do not have to do anything themselves. An application is not necessary. The payout is automatic. They should see the amount in their account at the end of next week,” says the CD&V minister.
