From 1 December, 44-year-old Gijs Rademaker will start working as an opinion pollster and presenter of a new panel to be formed for RTL Nieuws that will start at the beginning of next year. He will also be seen more often as a regular guest in the late talk shows of RTL, such as those of Beau van Erven Dorens and Eva Jinek.

Peter happy

Peter van der Vorst, the television boss of RTL, is enthusiastic. “I am very happy that Gijs Rademaker will join our team. With everything that is happening in our society, it is valuable and important to know what concerns the Dutch,” he says.

According to him, Gijs is extremely suitable for this. “In recent years, he has proven that he can indicate what is going on in the Netherlands in an accessible and positive way. Gijs will also have a regular role in our late-night talk shows and we are in talks about other programs!”

Gijs too

Gijs is looking forward to his transfer. “After a good time with current affairs program EenVandaag, it is time for a new step. I am going to work at RTL with great pleasure and energy! RTL Nieuws is an institute with a strong journalistic reputation and an eye for what is going on among people in the country.”

He continues: “As a pollster and presenter I like to contribute data and stories to their programs. In this difficult time full of crises and political contradictions, it remains important to be able to gauge how the Dutch think. I look forward to doing that at RTL in the coming years and developing myself in other areas as well.”

Ilse too

Ilse Openneer, the editor-in-chief of RTL Nieuws, is also very enthusiastic. “We are very happy with Gijs’ arrival. With him we get the right experience and expertise to get even closer to our viewer and to be able to measure and know what is going on in society.”

“We are really looking forward to this great collaboration and to shaping the news panel together.”
