The Albacore Four’a tuna vessel from Vigo, has suffered an explosion during repairs at the Seychelles pier, an archipelago located in the Indian Ocean. Sources from the sector explain that the first information confirms that there would be at least two dead: the chief engineer and the first engineer officerof Galician and Asturian origin.

The ship was undergoing repairs in port and there would have been an ammonia leak that caused the explosion.

The tuna vessel, once owned by the Basque company Albacora, is today owned by the company Compañía Europea de Tunidos from Vigo. It is 88 meters long and 16 meters wide and was built in 1974.

The shipowner would already be working to move to the archipelago.
