At least eight injured in shootings near Jerusalem’s Wailing Wall | NOW

At least eight people were injured in a shooting in the Old City of Jerusalem on Saturday night. Two people are in critical condition, emergency services said. A gunman opened fire on a bus that was stationary in a parking lot near the Western Wall, also known as the Wailing Wall. That reports news agency AP.

“I saw two people fall outside and two people bleeding inside. Everyone was in a panic,” the bus driver told reporters at the scene.

Seven men and a woman were treated at the scene by paramedics. Then they were taken to hospital.

Police are still looking for the shooter. According to news agency AP Israeli police searched for the suspect in a nearby Palestinian neighborhood.

The shooting follows a tense week between Israel and the Palestinians. Israel and Islamic Jihad fired rockets at each other to and from Gaza. At least 49 Palestinians were killed. The violence ended on Sunday, when a ceasefire was brokered by Egypt.
