Iran has suffered many droughts in the past decade, but also regularly suffers from flooding due to torrential rains. Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi said on Friday that 18 provinces have been affected by flooding. The inner city of Yazd, located in the center of the country and included on the UNESCO World Heritage List, also fell victim to the storm.
