At least 5 injured in shooting in a crowded disco in Spanish Marbella | Instagram HLN

Images circulating on social media show someone firing a shot and panic breaking out on the dance floor. Young people flee, tumble over each other and scream for help. “I couldn’t sleep because of the noise from the disco and suddenly I heard the four shots,” a local resident told the Spanish newspaper ‘El Confidencial’. “I looked outside because I knew from the start that these weren’t fireworks like other nights. I saw a lot of people running and then I called 911.”

It is said to be an argument between two groups of young people. According to El Confidencial, one of the videos shows that someone takes a large bottle to use as a weapon. Others take off their T-shirts and start provoking with bare skin. A few seconds later the first shot is fired and people start screaming. Three more shots followed and visitors fled. A total of five visitors are said to have been injured. One of them, a young woman, is in critical condition in hospital. The alleged shooter is said to be in hospital with a stab wound.

According to the local resident, who lives right across from beach club Opium, it has been a coming and going of police cars in recent months. Several incidents are said to have happened in recent months in the beach club, which is located on a boulevard in the center of the city and is usually also visited by many Dutch tourists. It is not yet clear whether Dutch people were present at the shooting.
