At least 40 people were killed in an attack on a military unit near Ouhigouya in Kouilga, a region in northeastern Burkina Faso, on Saturday. It concerns six soldiers and 34 members of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP), deployed by the army to fight terrorism. Another 33 people were injured. That says the secretary general of Kouilga, Albert Zongo, on Sunday.
