A man was injured in the stabbing incident on Coolsingel just before 5.30 p.m. Officers rushed to arrest the woman from Heerlen. The victim was taken to hospital for his injuries. What exactly happened is still under investigation.
Because of the event in the city, the Rotterdam police were allowed to carry out a preventive search. Among other things, a firearm, a large machete and other objects with which you can stab were found. They also detained people for public intoxication and “other incidents that you encounter at events,” said a police spokeswoman.
This Saturday is the last day of a small week of Rotterdam Unlimited and Summer Carnival. As the highlight of the event, a street parade is organized on the last day, during which a long procession of dancers moves through the city. The festival with lots of music, song and dance attracts several hundred thousand people from home and abroad.
