At least 2.3 million people flee from Ukraine to Poland

At least 2.3 million people have fled to Poland to seek refuge since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. According to the Polish Border Guard, 31,100 people entered Poland on Saturday.

It is not known how many people have stayed in Poland and how many have moved on to countries such as Germany and the Netherlands. Ukrainians can travel freely in the European Union.

Conversely, since the start of the war on February 24, 339,000 people have entered Ukraine from Poland. It mainly concerns Ukrainians who want to join the army or help people in the country.

Ukraine and Poland share a border of about 500 kilometers.
