At least 11 dead and 15 injured in an attack on a military camp in Russia

At least eleven people have died and fifteen have been injured this Saturday in an attack against a military training ground in the Belgorod region, bordering Ukraine, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The attack took place in the Uest military district, in the Belgorod region. “Two citizens from a CIS country have committed an attack,” the ministry statement said, referring to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), made up of several former Soviet republics.

The document details that the attack occurred during shooting training with volunteers to take part in the special military operation of Russian troops in Ukraine. “The terrorists have opened fire with automatic weapons against members of the unit,” explains the official document.

In the shooting, 11 people have died and fifteen have been left with injuries of varying severity, who have been transferred to health facilities to be treated. “The two terrorists have been killed by replica fire,” the ministry concludes.
