The municipality of Waalre will offer crisis shelter to 225 asylum seekers. They can stay in sports halls De Pracht and ‘t Hazzo from 13 to 27 July.
The reception of asylum seekers was recently declared a national crisis by the cabinet. The overcrowded registration center in Ter Apel should be relieved by additional crisis locations. All security regions must realize 225 extra crisis locations in the near future.
The Waalre council has now decided to temporarily assume this responsibility for the Brabant South region. Asylum seekers will be received there from 13 to 27 July. In case of emergency, that period will be extended by another week.
Together with the COA, the municipality is organizing an information evening for local residents. They will also receive a letter about the reception.
